FSE.12
This season, the team has focused on building just one single seater that is capable of both autonomous and conventional piloted driving. This 12. generation student formula was a major challenge from the basic design due to the incorporation of autonomous features into the piloted single seater. The car concept was based on the eleventh generation and was supplemented with the systems from DV.01 and the experience gained during the three seasons of operation of the autonomous group. Despite the addition of autonomous components to the car, the team aimed to achieve the same weight as last year‘s piloted single seater by optimizing and weight reduction the individual components.
Although it doesn‘t seem like it at first glance, most of the units have undergone major changes since last season. For the first time, we implemented three years’ worth of custom inverter development, allowing us to use the potential of our formula to the maximum. By saving weight on our own traction inverters, we were able to keep the weight under 200kg despite the addition of autonomous systems.
