The new CTU.26 combines lower weight with higher performance

Our brand-new autonomous electric formula, the CTU.26, is once again significantly lighter, faster, and more structurally robust. We officially unveiled the car for the upcoming season on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the Prague Planetarium.

This is a major milestone for our team because we have managed to build a car that is not only faster but also much more advanced in its construction than last year’s model. You will notice the visual changes immediately as we have lowered the wing by 10 centimeters. However, the most important improvements are hidden within the structure itself, where we succeeded in reducing the total weight by a full 10 kilograms compared to the previous model.

We achieved this through advanced simulations and the use of new carbon fiber materials. As a result, the monocoque weighs 2 kg less while being more durable and aerodynamically complex.

This is a major milestone for our team because we have managed to build a car that is not only faster but also much more advanced in its construction than last year’s model. We achieved this through advanced simulations and the use of new carbon fiber materials. As a result, the monocoque weighs 2 kg less while being more durable and aerodynamically complex.

Furthermore, we took a bold step by switching from water cooling to air cooling for the front motors. Although this system is more demanding in terms of thermal simulation, it allowed us to remove an entire water circuit including the pump, leading to further significant weight savings.

The season has also been a challenge from a personnel perspective. We had to manage the departure of many experienced colleagues and effectively pass on our know-how to the next generation. Additionally, the CTU.26 is the final model of its series. While the team usually only recycles, lightens, or optimizes certain parts within a single generation, our next car will be built entirely from scratch.

So, while we fight for podiums with the new CTU.26 this year, we are already back in the workshop working on a completely new concept for 2027.

An exciting journey lies ahead of us. We are taking the CTU.26 to four prestigious competitions, and in all of them, we will also compete in the autonomous category. We will visit Most in the Czech Republic, Barcelona in Spain, the Hockenheimring in Germany, and we will wrap up the season at Varano de Melegari in Italy.

We are building on great successes from previous years, such as last year’s 3rd place in the autonomous category at Hockenheim or our dominance in Italy in 2024. We believe that the CTU.26 has the potential to repeat these achievements and prove that we belong among the world’s elite.

Wish us luck as we head to the track!
