The 2025 season has begun! Double bronze for CTU.25 in Assen

by | Jul 19, 2025

On Saturday, July 12th, we kicked off the 2025 racing season in Assen, Netherlands, where we took part in the prestigious international competition Formula Student Netherlands (FSN) held at the famous TT Circuit Assen. It was our first opportunity to present our brand-new electric category race car, CTU.25, and also to test our performance after an intense winter of development.

After a long overnight journey, we arrived in Assen on Saturday and immediately began unloading, setting up our camp, and assembling a temporary pit. In the afternoon, the first technical inspections took place – both the mechanical inspection and the accumulator inspection.

After a long overnight journey, we arrived in Assen on Saturday and immediately began unloading, setting up our camp, and assembling a temporary pit. In the afternoon, the first technical inspections took place – both the mechanical inspection and the accumulator inspection.

The second day was dedicated to continuing the inspections and preparing for the static events. We continued preparing for the accumulator inspection, followed by the finalization of documents for the Engineering Design Event, Business Plan, and Cost and Manufacturing disciplines. In the evening, we focused on building the final pit right next to the race track.

On Monday, we successfully passed both the mechanical and accumulator inspections. Throughout the day, we also took part in two static disciplines – Engineering Design and Cost and Manufacturing. Both presentations were held in front of an international panel of experts, who emphasized our detailed technical knowledge, decision-making processes, and efficient resource management. The day concluded with a group photo of all the teams, which is traditionally one of the symbolic moments of each competition.

FSN Results

  • 11th Overall
  • 7th Acceleration
  • 10th Skidpad
  • 3rd AutoX
  • DNF Endurance
  • DNF Efficiency
  • 3rd Engineering design
  • 18th Cost & Manufacturing
  • 12th Business plan

After all the demanding preparations, the fifth day brought key moments in the form of dynamic tests. In the morning, our race car successfully passed the Rain Test and Brake Test, thus meeting all the conditions to participate in the dynamic events. The team then entered the track and completed the Acceleration discipline, followed by the challenging wet Skid Pad. The day ended with the Autocross run, in which we achieved an excellent 3rd place.

The final day of the competition was dedicated to the longest and most demanding event – the Endurance race. Unfortunately, despite a very promising start, we did not finish the race due to technical issues on the track. Nevertheless, we are leaving Assen with several valuable successes: in the prestigious Engineering Design discipline, we advanced to the finals among the top teams and ultimately finished in a fantastic 3rd place, just as we did in the previously mentioned Autocross.

In the overall competition ranking, we placed 11th out of more than 40 electric teams. This result confirms our standing among Europe’s elite, despite the complications in the Endurance race. Throughout the competition, our new CTU.25 car repeatedly demonstrated its potential. We also proved our high level of preparation, organization, and technical background. The races in Assen also represent important preparation for the other key events of this season, including FS Czech and FS Germany. We thank all our partners, supporters, and fans, and we look forward to continuing one of the most ambitious seasons in our history.
