On Monday, May 19, 2025, we unveiled our latest electric formula car, CTU.25, to the public in an unconventional way – right on board the Grand Bohemia boat, cruising along the Vltava River in the heart of Prague.
We wanted to show that the combination of water and electricity doesn’t have to be a problem – on the contrary, it can be a symbol of progress, creativity, and the courage to go against the current. And that’s exactly what CTU.25 represents.
Our new car pushes boundaries in two key areas: it combines a fully electric drivetrain with advanced autonomous capabilities. This allows us to take part in both traditional driver-operated races as well as competitions focused on autonomous driving. Developing a car capable of excelling in both disciplines is a major engineering challenge – one that we, as a team, have boldly embraced.

The event was once again hosted by our long-time moderator, Ondřej Carda. It began with a welcome speech by Lucie Nedvědová, Marketing Director of Prague Boats, followed by remarks from CTU Vice-Rector Ing. Radek Holý, Ph.D., Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering prof. Ing. Jan Vobecký, DrSc., and Deputy Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering doc. Ing. Jan Řezníček, CSc. These guests expressed their support for our work and acknowledged the valuable contribution of student teams to the university’s technological and innovation development.

“Our goal was to develop a car that can succeed in both worlds – traditional racing and the autonomous future of motorsport,” says Jan Cába, our team captain.
“CTU.25 represents the culmination of months of intense work, innovation, and overcoming challenges.“

Following the opening speeches, a technical presentation of the CTU.25 took place, opened by Jan Cába, the captain of our team. He introduced the overall concept of the car and the challenges faced during its development. He was followed by Filip Müller representing the mechanical section, David Poborský for the electrical section, and Marko Matoničkin for the autonomous section. Each of them gave visitors an insight into their specific area of development and the technologies we’ve taken to the next level this year.

The CTU.25 rollout was attended by media representatives, our partners, supporters, and the general public. Visitors had the opportunity to see the car up close, talk to its creators, and learn more about everything that goes into its development.
As the team, we are proud to represent CTU in the prestigious international Formula Student competition, where more than 800 teams from around the world compete each year. This competition is not just about speed – it also evaluates design, project economics, and presentation skills. We believe that CTU.25 will be a worthy representative of our work and will push the limits of what we can achieve.
We want to thank all our supporters – our partners, fans, faculties, parents, and everyone who believes in our work and in the future of technology. Your support gives us the strength to keep pushing the boundaries and moving forward. 💙
